Refining Intentions
Ilmarinen, great smith,
placed into his forge
the tips of white-swan feathers,
the milk of greatest virtue,
a single grain of barley,
the finest wool of lambkins
He blew upon his bellows
looked into his forge and saw a glorious crossbow forming
it sang with promises of great ability to kill in battle.
But Ilmarinen sought a gift that served life not death.
Three times again Ilmarinen blew upon his forge. Great and wondrous objects useful to mankind appeared but each was flawed, ill tempered, seeking destructive action.
Ilmarinen cast them all back into his forge.
He called upon the winds of the four directions, asked for help to forge a cosmic gift that served love not hate.
Sparks flew upward
On the third night Ilmarinen,
Bending low to view his metals,
On the bottom of the furnace,
Sees the magic Sampo rising,
Sees the lid in many colors.
Quick the artist of Wainola
Forges with the tongs and anvil,
Knocking with a heavy hammer,
Forges skilfully the Sampo;
On one side the flour is grinding,
On another salt is making,
On a third is money forging,
And the lid is many-colored.
Well the Sampo grinds when finished,
To and fro the lid in rocking,
Grinds one measure at the day-break,
Grinds a measure fit for eating,
Grinds a second for the market,

The great Sampo, a mill of many uses works on its own, grinding, milling day after day a source of abundance in an abundant universe. We are again asked to consider our choices as we set our intentions. For self? destruction? or good of all?
The great Sampo is a wonderful image to contemplate going into tomorrow’s Jupiter/Pluto conjunction. Pluto does grind away all that is not authentic too . . .

Ja, isn’t it so interesting how this year the astrology aligns perfectly with the namnsdags? It feels as if we have arrived at the moment foretold in the “seers myths” As things unfold over the next little while i will be posting correspondences to the 2012 prophesies…guess what they are in the Nordic myths too.

Nobeldagen is also today- The day the Nobel prizes are given. It serves as a good example of how the named day energy works. Alfred Nobel, inventor of dynamite, made his money from instruments of destruction yet turned the “mill” to use his money as a of benefactor of peace.
And observe how prominent these prizes are in the eyes of the world.
