I’ve followed the links from Pisces Chronicles to your webpage. I wanted to ask you about homeopathy - I am intrigued about the comments you made to the June 1 posting on Pisces Chronicles, which I’ve quoted below. I have psoriasis (very mild), have had for years, and, after trying allopathic and alternative treatments, I have made my peace with this condition, although others have not. People ask me about it and give me information on ‘cures’ quite often. When I casually call the patches on my wrists ‘old friends’, I receive reactions of disbelief. But that is how I have come to feel about this condition. My grandmother also had a mild case (from what I can remember, not from a formal diagnosis), so your comments below about inherited weaknesses really struck home. That is exactly how it feels - something to accept, with a lengthy working-through process.
This leads to my curiousity about homeopathy. Would you please point me to books/websites I can read as an intro.?
I took a look around your site - your work is fresh, unusual, and homely as in “here is the path to home”. That’s how your pieces strike me… all of that wildness - not only our home, but leading through to home.
I also love the references in your posts to the ancestors - I will take some time to read back entries and comments.
“As a Homeopath, this is of course a very familiar path to wellness. I would add that imo we are also the current moment in a long line of ancestors. They leave us with many unresolved parts that are ours to complete. We are well served to be gentle with ourselves.
Therefore my earlier, be gentle on ourselves. As one “wound” lifts others that have been dormant may appear. In homeopathy we treat the person beyond this lifetime. We consider the miasm - that is inherited weaknesses. These are, also unresolved, suppressed within us, waiting for an opportunity to complete themselves. They will take lifetimes and generations to accommodate. I consider disease to be a process of co-evolution for we the host and the disturbing factor.
My clients have taught me a lot, in fact, everything i know about healing a person comes from that individual, Over the years i have come to take a very tolerant view of disorder. I do not encourage facing the demons nor too much searching for some underlying fault. Place no blame, accept no guilt, it seems to be enough to recognize and let it go as best we can, if we can.”
I will put something on the front page about books I like and some additional information about homeopathy which i hope you will find helpful. It may take a few days. I am working toward a deadline.

~Psoriasis~
And since others may also find this an important topic for their health, i will write a bit about psora the oldest miasm which is the foundation of psoriasis and many other ailments.
Thank you Tess, for taking the time to find me and welcome to tseka. Tseka is a Heiltsuk word which means sacred dance, one person’s contribution in the Tsetseka, the winter dance cycle, of the northwest coast Indians where i was raised.
Tess arrived here via a favorite website of a favorite person of mine. Her is her site Pisces Chronicles The Healing Phenomenon is her current post and the one we are discussing above.
Thank you, Ellen -
I’ve read a bit more of your entries on this site. What a curious upbringing you had with two distinct, rich cultures that would seem to be so disparate, yet in your writing you weave them seamlessly together, moving freely from one to the other. Ah - I see - tseka.
I looked up ‘psora’ -what I found so far is generalized information - the body keeps the ‘itch’ away from the vital organs, manifesting in the skin condition - covering up or curing “symptoms” only serves to drive the ‘itch’ inward, to the detriment of the organism. Interesting, I had thought of my rashes as an end in and of themselves, not a defense of the body.
(if I have the above right, that is)
Thank you again - looking forward to the book recommendations, as you have time. I am very appreciative.
You certainly do have it Tess. I have not considered writing about homeopathy on this website. I am letting the idea sit for a day or so to see how i can bring this into tseka without being confusing. You are one among many who have emailed me. I would like to share my love for this powerful healing modality.
My approach to homeopathy is very much an ecology of healing which looks to the myths and to the cycles of nature for clues to greater understanding.
I would like to add my interest in “hearing” your thoughts on homeopathy too. Since this site is devoted to your paintings and creative ventures, maybe you could consider having a blog linked here devoted to homeopathy. That is if there is time and energy available . . .
:-)
Tseka, our ability to earn a living — or lack thereof — is also a form of wholeness/health, and I believe there are also deep cures for this “condition.” I know I’m working on it! I’ll let you know how my experiment goes.
P.S. Thank you for your generous words about my site. It wouldn’t be such a rich place if you weren’t there.

Thanks for another vote.

If only i did not have to attend to that distraction of having to make money to live eh?
